Happy Birthday to me! :-D
It's been a fun day. I've got to spend most of the day playing computer games. Always fun. :) Nice presents and good food.
Gamespy.com has a feature up about the
The Top Ten Handhelds that Never Made It. The number 1 was none other than the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Go ahead and
read what they had to say about it. But in response I posted the following on the gamespy forums...
As I read the article I noticed my beloved had not yet appeared. Then as I got into the top three I knew there was some who shared my sorrow. It almost brought a tear in my eye the day I read the press release that SNK USA was shutting down and ordering a recall on all merchandise. I think that was the dagger. I mean why couldn't they at least let me find a dusty copy of Evolution in some store somewhere 3 months down the line? Why? So that day I ran out and bought what I could. But still I mean why? Why couldn't they of at least sold off their NeoGeo business and made a profit off of it no doubt. Why could they not say hey SNK USA try to run yourself, I don't know. But it was just brought back sad memories reading gamespy's views on my beloved system. Thank you though, because now I know somewhere it's getting the respect it deserves. Despite all the looks I would get from people wondering why I wasn't playing a gameboy instead.
"So are they selling well?", I said to the clerk.
"Yeah they are. We're all playing it now more than gameboys." the clerk replied.
"They're going to stick around for a while right?" I asked.
He nodded yes saying "Yes they have a long list of games coming out for it."
"Good, because the last thing I want is to buy the system and the company stop selling it or something." I said as I paid for the Sonic bundle with the platinum case. Because if I'm not mistaken this was soon after I had been disappointed by the news that Sega was stopping support for my other console, the Dreamcast.
True story.
