Clone Conundrum?
Right now I'm reading
Star Wars:Shatterpoint. It's a new clone wars novel by Matthew Stover who apparently is going to write the episode III novel as well. So far about a quarter of the way through it, it's pretty good. This lead me to watch episode II again. Which brought me to wonder what the hell is the Darth Sidous's plan?
We know 1) He via Count Dokuu/Lord Tyranus is behind the Confedaracy and the droid army. 2) He wanted the war and "everything is going as planned." 3) In the original trilogy the rebels are of the republic and the bad guys are of the emipre. In the new prequel trilogy the republic are the good guys with evil elements inside ("Sith lord controls the senate") and the bad guys are called the confederacy. 4) The Confederacy has the Death Star plans.
Then I'm thinking that 1) Of course Chancelor Palpatine is Darth Sidous. 2)What we know as the Republic becomes the Empire, because at the begining of Episode IV when Grand Mof Tarkin enters the round table meeting he says that the Emperor has obsolved the senate. That doesn't exactly mean it's the same government but it seems so. 3) The Empire is based on Coruscant. 4) The clone troopers are a pre-cursor to the storm troopers and somehow related.
Things I don't know... 1) Why would Darth Sidous want to build the clone army to fight his own droid army? 2) Is the war mearly a guise to kill all the Jedi? 3) When does the flip of names take place? Does the Confederacy take control of Coruscant while letting Palpatine stay in power and rename itself the Empire? 4) Who the hell was Master Sifodus and how was he killed?
That's what I'm wondering without getting into things that are probably answered in Episode III. So in anyone has any guesses feel free to answer over in our
forum.
